Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what personal data Tympan Pictures collects through tympanpictures.com and tympan.pictures (the “Site”), why, who receives it, and what rights you have. We collect little: there are no accounts, no payments and no advertising on the Site.
Who is responsible
BrainiacMinds, operating as Tympan Pictures, is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@tympanpictures.com.
What we collect, and why
Newsletter. If you subscribe, we store your email address, the language of the page you used, which page you signed up from, and the time you signed up. We use it to send you news about our projects. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
Hosting and security data. When you visit, our hosting provider processes technical data such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the time, and the referring page. We use it to deliver the Site, keep it secure and prevent abuse. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure site. The provider keeps such logs for short periods under its own policies.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are read and how visitors find us. It loads after the page has finished loading, only on our production domain. It sets first-party cookies with a random identifier and receives data such as your IP address, device and browser information, approximate location, the pages you view and the page you came from. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Site. Analytics data is kept for the retention period set in our analytics account.
Trailers. Our trailers are hosted on YouTube. We embed a video through youtube-nocookie.com only after you press play. Until then the Site makes no request to YouTube’s player, and YouTube sets no cookies. Once you play a video, Google receives data such as your IP address and how you interact with the player, under Google’s own privacy policy.
Messages. If you write to us, we receive your email address and your message, and use them to reply and to keep a record of the correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request.
The Site’s fonts are served from our own domain, so no font requests go to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decisions about you, we do not run advertising on the Site, and we do not sell personal data.
Who receives your data
We share personal data only with service providers that process it for us, and with authorities where the law requires:
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosting, network delivery, security, and the database that holds newsletter sign-ups;
- Google LLC and its affiliates: analytics, and YouTube when you play a trailer;
- the email services we use to receive and answer your messages.
International transfers
Our providers operate globally, so your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States. Where the law requires, transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, for example under the GDPR or UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, or Vietnamese data-protection law, you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive a portable copy, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data-protection authority.
To use these rights, write to hello@tympanpictures.com. We will answer within the time the law requires, normally one month. We may need to verify your identity first; for the newsletter, we find your record by email address only.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by writing to hello@tympanpictures.com.
- Opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout), or by blocking cookies or analytics scripts in your browser settings. The Site works the same without them.
Children
The Site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has subscribed, write to us and we will delete the record.
Security
We serve the Site over HTTPS, limit access to our systems, and rely on our providers’ security measures. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so on the Site.
Contact and complaints
Questions or requests: hello@tympanpictures.com. You also have the right to complain to the data-protection authority where you live or work. See also our Terms of Use.
